ivanoransky: “Push!” Image copyright AJOG It’s the obvious next step in the distinguished line of scientific inquiry that had author Kayt Sukel orgasm in an MRI by herself and scanned a couple having sex in such a device: German researchers have reported on what happens when a woman gives birth in an MRI. The scientists were standing on the shoulders of giants, they note in their report in...

2012
Two weeks into year 2012, I have been.. Procrastinating my procrastination on writing a decent post on my recent Cambodia backpacking trip Running around like a headless chicken Working on a research report that looks into the development of children’s conceptual knowledge about the earth’s shape (understanding the nature of children’s initial knowledge about the shape of the...

Hypnosis
Hypnosis is an intriguing psychological phenomenon and has been investigated extensively by cognitive neuroscientist. There has always been a key debate in hypnosis throughout the whole 20th century between ‘state’ and ‘non-state’ theories. Sadly, I have not much knowledge in this area and only know that recent attempts have been made to integrate findings from these two...

Hi guys, I’m looking for an E-Reader that is clearly made for curling up with and holding in one hand for an hours-long diving into another universe. Does anyone has any brands to recommend me? My knowledge of the E-Reader universe begins with Kindle 2 and ends with Kindle Fire.

In just a few hours’ time, I will be on the plane to Siem Reap, Cambodia. During my 2-weeks stay there, I will be volunteering my help to a local orphanage (as well as pulling a Lara Croft in Angkor Wat during the weekends). I will be turning 21 this coming 24th so this trip is easily the best gift I can give to myself.  See you guys on the 26th.

supergayturall asked: In response to your - 'Psychopathology is a paradox from evolutionary perspective, since psychopathology is maladaptation, and evolution is about selection of adaptive traits. And how can an evolutionary theorist explains the worldwide presence of schizophrenia, a disease that clearly diminishes an individual’s capacity for both survival and reproduction?' ... There are, of course,...

structureofreality replied to your post: Monday Thoughts: Omg! Are you Cambodian? Because I am too :D Hello Alicia, I’m not Cambodian! I’m just heading to Cambodia next week for two weeks to volunteer at an orphanage in Siem Reap and also to take some time off school and work. I never knew you’re Cambodian, that’s a nice surprise. Had any chance to visit Cambodia lately?

I’m almost done with my undergraduate degree. The question is, what am I going to do after this? Thinking of applying for med school, going on to graduate school, taking a gap year and volunteer in a NGO in Africa, staying at my current job.. Money, you’re a cut-throat bitch.

Just in case you didn't think the words "Bad-Ass"... →
cranquis: Cracked.com’s article on 5 Insane Doctors from History who put House to Shame. It’s a Surgical Hall of Fame, basically. My favorite/most-jaw-dropping is #3: surgeon removes live hand grenade from a patient’s face. Yours?

Hope you’re doing awesome so far :) Here’s three ways for you to keep yourself sane at work: Put decaf in the coffee machine for 3 weeks. Monday Thoughts:
So many of our dreams first seem impossible, then they seem improbable, and then, when we summon the will, they soon become inevitable. I’m a prisoner of my own mind “I’m afraid so. You’re entirely bonkers. But I’ll tell you a secret. All the best people are.” Still working on the results section for my research report. Trying to keep myself sane. Repeating...
